The Story Behind Kindred

❊ About

Made for Kids Who Want to See Themselves.

My name is Tyrus Goshay. I am an illustrator of children's books and the founder of Tgosketch Illustration and Publishing. When I was a kid I loved to draw and color, and I wanted to color my dad. The only crayons I had were black and brown, with nothing in between, and that discouraged me. It is the reason I create work for kids who want to see their own image in the books and pages they color. Kindred grew out of that: giant coloring posters that let families learn African-American history together, from the perspective of the people who changed our country for the better.

❊ What Makes Kindred Different

More Than a Coloring Page.

Every poster is built to bring a family together around one story.

Each poster is 35 x 35 inches, big enough for the whole family to color at the same time, on the floor or on the wall.

1

A QR code at the bottom of every poster opens learning resources about the hero your family is coloring.

2

Kindred began as a Kickstarter that 110 backers funded, raising $7,351 against a $3,000 goal.
